This photo illustrates two popular approaches to unilateral space regaining. The Inman Power Component is used on the regainer between #3 and #5. The IPC compresses the coil spring with an easy to adjust unidirectional sliding lock. The lock can be advanced 1mm “click” at a time for accurate, predictable activation.

The Gurin Lock is used on the regainer between #12 and #14. This Lock is loosened with a Hex Wrench, advanced along the wire to compress the coil spring as desired, and then tightened to maintain activation of the spring.
