This appliance, with an anterior inclined ramp, is typically used when there is a definite clicking in the temporomandibular joint. It is designed to recapture an anteriorly displaced disc. The altered mandibular position is maintained by an upper inclined anterior ramp which rests lingual to the lower anteriors, while the upper occlusal coverage is indexed heavily to accept the lower buccal cusp tips. An accurate “construction bite” is essential for proper fabrication of this appliance.
