When the distal-most molar on the lower arch erupts in lingual version, the Single Tooth Molar Uprighter can upright it very efficiently -- provided that no more than 3mm of movement is required. This special expansion screw affords a precisely controlled tipping of the crown without bodily movement.
A key is provided with the appliance for weekly adjustments. If the molar is in a locked lingual crossbite, it is advisable to request the addition of a posterior bite plane to facilitate opening of the bite. Note: This appliance also depicts use of a micro-screw -- very effective in moving a single tooth labially.
